I am the Chief Science Officer at BeHealth Solutions, LLC and an Assistant Professor in the Behavioral Health and Technology program area at the University of Virginia (UVA) Health System. My research interests include the development and evaluation of Internet interventions for various medical and behavioral health problems, including insomnia, post-traumatic stress, encopresis, diabetes, and self-management of cancer-related symptoms. I have been conducting research in the field of Internet interventions since 2002. Prior to working at UVA and BeHealth Solutions, I collaborated with Dr. Brett Litz at Boston University on the development and evaluation of an Internet intervention for service members with PTSD brought on by either the 9-11 attack on the Pentagon or the Iraq War. At UVA, I have served as a co-investigator on multiple National Institutes of Health-funded studies utilizing technology to increase access to treatment, including the insomnia Internet intervention (SHUTi: Sleep Healthy Using the Internet, pronounced shut-eye). ...
